The BlueLA Electric Car Sharing Program was recently launched in Los Angeles. As the largest electric vehicle car sharing program for disadvantaged communities, BlueLA Car Sharing will provide more transportation options for people on the lower end of the income spectrum with 100 electric cars and 200  chargers to self-service stations across Los Angeles.

The program drives forward Mayor Garcetti’s Sustainable City pLAn, who headed the launch alongside California State Senate Leader Kevin de León, Assemblymember Miguel Santiago, the California Air Resources Board, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, and representatives from Blue Solutions.

Funding was made available in part by California Climate Investments (CCI), an initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, strengthen the economy, and improve public health.
