California bill aims at having 100 percent renewable energy by 2045

California’s senator Kevin de Leon proposed a legislation that includes efforts to decarbonize the state’s energy grid. In detail, it means that all of the state’s electricity is generated from renewable sources by 2045. If the legisaltion is passed, the bill would make California the second state that commits. So far, California is on a good way. The Energy Commission confirmed the state got about 27 percent of its electricity from renewables last year and the capacity has more than doubled over the past decade. California’s largest utilites are already ahead of meeting their 2020 goal.
