China bans high-sulfur content diesel fuel

To reduce local air pollution levels and help with a nationwide pollution problem, the Chinese government has announced that from November 1st on, the sale of high-sulfur content diesel fuel will be banned in the country. These fuels were mainly used as a low-cost option for tractors or ships.

“In a statement, the NDRC said it will crack down on the production and distribution of oil products that don’t meet government standards, and increase its supervision of major refiners and rural gas stations,” Reuters further provides.
