Fourteen organisations, including Caffe Nero, Costa Coffee, Greggs, McDonald’s UK, Pret A Manger, and Starbucks, have announced a nationwide recycling system that is designed to reduce the amount of takeaway cups in landfills dramatically.
They will all fund a program that aims to build 400 paper cup recycling facilities in the UK and to make paper cups more accepted by means of kerbside collections. The program is run by the Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment (ACE UK).
