School bus manufacturer Daimler subsidiary Thomas Built Buses, introduces battery-electric school bus. Thomas Built Buses presented its “Saf-T-Liner C2 Electric Bus” or “Jouley” with intended production to begin in 2019, it will drive up to 81 children. The subsidiary Electric Bus Thomas Built Buses was able to draw upon Daimler’s electric technology resources during the design of the “Jouley”. The electric bus is equipped with the PowerDrive 7000ev powertrain from EDI, which provides 100-160 kWh of battery capacity and a baseline of 100-miles range and an operating range up to 100-miles between charges.
