Empower Micro Systems revealed their Genesys 8K modular smart home energy platform, which is aimed at reducing the amount of equipment homeowners need to install to make home solar-plus-storage easier to implement. While competitors require a minimum of eight components, Genesys 8K only needs two. According to the company, this will cut costs for warehousing and transportation, decrease installation time and make system reliability more affordable.
“Where we’re really focusing on is to have a unified platform, from a power electronics point of view, that can be applied to residential solar, as well as having a modular and scalable system for energy storage,” said Mika Nuotio, CEO of Empower.
