ENGIE provides smart heating to UK customers with help of PassivSystems

ENGIE is providing customers on their Control tariff smart thermostats at no upfront cost after partnering with smart tech firm PassivSystems. The thermostats are part of the PassivLiving HEAT service from PassivSystems. The program saves energy while keeping adequate temperatures and offers households the ability to control their heating and hot water remotelythrough an app.

“The cost of heating our homes makes up the greatest proportion of household energy bills so it made absolute sense to us to make smart heating more accessible,” Paul Rawson, chief executive if ENGIE’s home energy business, said in a statement. “By allowing our customers to only heat their home when they need to, we hope ENGIE Control will help them feel more in control, reduce the amount of energy they use and save money in the process.”
