European electric car market up by 27 percent, top sellers

Passenger plug-in car registrations made a 27 percent jump so far this year, amounting to 1.4 percent of all purchases. The market had more than 21,000 registrations during June, nearly 50 percent more than the same month last year. Topping the charts was the Renault Zoe after solving some quality control issues. Coming in second, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV went up considerably in Norway and Sweden after a dry streak. Completing the top 3 is the BMW i3. A revised version with more range is being released later this year.
