Financial empowerment program fights racial wealth gap

The Cities for Financial Empowerment (CFE) Fund has announced it will be expanding its free financial counseling programs for low-income residents to 12 new cities. Those cities will benefit from technical assistance for 6-12 months as well as $20,000 to draft a model and prepare the launch of their local Financial Empowerment Centers (FEC) program.

Afterwards, cities can further receive additional funds. The program is to be expanded to 50 other cities that yet have to be determined.
