What are the potentials of ride-sharing to reduce traffic congestion? Image source: Shutterstock (#533720356).

A startup by the name of Less, a ridesharing app with a twist, has managed to raise $19 million in its first funding round, with Daphni and Index Ventures being the investors.

Less wants to connect people who are looking for a ride to drivers who are already on that route anyway. But first, to build a user base, the startup is developing a navigation app. Incentivizing people to use that app by micro payments, Less is planning to afterwards launch the ridesharing service with the established user base.
