First step towards Hyperloop from NYC to DC

The state of Maryland has received a conditional utility permit to Elon Musk’s Boring Company to dig a 10.3 mile tunnel connecting the highway 175 in Maryland to Baltimore. The tunnel would be the first part of a Hyperloop transportation system in the area, which will one day allow people to travel from New York to Washington, D.C. in about half an hour. Furthermore, no state funds will be used to support the project.

“This thing is real. It’s exciting to see. The word ‘transformational’ may be overused, but this is a technology that leapfrogs any technology that is out there today. And it’s going to be here,” said Maryland Transportation Secretary Pete Rahn.
