At the University of Wisconsin-Madison a team of engineers developed a flooring material capable of generating electricity by a footstep. The manufactured flooring produces a usable amount of electricity after coming in contact with untreated nanofibers. This way of generating electricity is also very cheap and can be very useful at crowded places like stadiums or universities. Even though the procedure of generating energy is not new, no one has ever used wood pulp before which is a very cheap material, too.
