The 2017 Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) has concluded that real estate firms have become three percent more sustainable worldwide in comparison to last year. More companies are reporting on sustainability, and have improved their energy, water and waste indicator numbers.
While the Asian market improved the most, Australia and New Zealand are retaining their lead.
The GRESB use data from real estate, energy, telecommunication, transport, water, and social infrastructure, and then measures how they perform on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) indicators like energy and water consumption, carbon emissions, employee satisfaction, health and safety, and the supply chain.
