A new online guide for urban landscape planning was published by the American Society of Landscape Architects. It shows with examples how the risk natural hazards, such as drought, fire or landslides, can be reduced by working with nature. The guide recommends to minimize sprawl and to establish multi-layer featured systems for resilience instead of one big protecting infrastructure that provides no backup.
