Energy storage company Leclanché SA and Škoda Electric, a manufacturer of electric drives and traction motors for trolley and electric buses, have entered a Joint Development Agreement and Framework Purchase Contract in the framework of which Leclanché will develop battery solutions for Škoda Electric’s electric bus expansion strategy.
Set to last an initial five years, the companies will monitor metropolitan area trends to create zero-emission environments. High energy and ultra-fast power battery solutions are needed all over the world as the e-transport sector is expected to expand at a CAGR of 37% over the coming years, according to Navigant Research.
