Malaysian listing rules simplified for SMEs by Bursa Malaysia

Bursa Malaysia Berhad has issued new Listing Requirements in addition to several amended rules for the Leading Entrepreneur Accelerator Platform Market, a service through which small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can raise funds via the capital market efficiently. The LEAP Market complements both the Main Market and ACE Market as it addresses the funding gap faced by the SMEs. The new requirements provide access to the capital market for SMEs, and thus reduce their dependency on financial institutions.

“As the national exchange, we believe the exchange can play a greater developmental role to facilitate fund raising for and the growth of SMEs,” says Datuk Seri Tajuddin Atan, Bursa Malaysia Chief Executive Officer.

The new LEAP LR and the amended rules all have been approved by the SC. They came into effect on 16 June 2017.
