Released recently at the Global Platform for Risk Reduction summit in Mexico, the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction introduced the Disaster Resilience Scorecard for Cities, a tool that was designed to help local governments decrease disaster-related risks. By aligning the resilience efforts of participating cities with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, an international accord, cities will be able to assess their individual problems more efficiently.
