The educational foundation Yayasan Harapan Masa Depan Cerah (YHMDC), brought to life in 2012 by Cargill Tropical Palm Holdings, the palm oil unit of American agribusiness giant Cargill, is an effort to shake the industry up and prevent children from being abused and forced into child labour.

YHMDC (Foundation for a Bright Future in English) looks to change the dynamics of the industry with education, running over 42 schools in South Sumatra and West Kalimantan, where more than 6,000 students are prepared for a future that is in fact brighter.
