Queensland’ state government announced the state is going to build a 2,000km network of electric vehicle charging stations in the framework of a $3 million project to support the advancement towards electric cars. The network of 18 charging stations will make up one of the world’s longest electric vehicle highways, and is set to be finished within six months.

Furthermore, the stations that recharge the vehicles in about half an hour will offer power for free for the minimum of a year to further encourage ownership of electric vehicles.

“This project is ambitious, but we want as many people as possible on board the electric vehicle revolution, as part of our transition to a low-emissions future,” environment minister Steven Miles said.
