Rocket Lab, a space exploration startup raised a $75 million investment valuing the company at $1 billion. In order to overcome the satellite launch bottlenecks especially for the smaller satellites, companies such as Rocket labs are keen on finding new ways to be able to launch small satellites cheaply and often. Expected to fly within this year, the rocket engine’s are 3-D printed and boasts of a battery-powered turbopump and can carry a maximum of 225 kilograms for about $5 million. With a support of companies like Planet and NASA Rocket Labs aims to develop an entire launch range rather than just a single rocket.
