Israeli cement maker Nesher, Veridis Environment and local recycling authorities built the largest trash collection and processing facility of its kind to produce fuel for Israel’s main cement factory. The plant handles about half the trash that the population of Tel Aviv produces, circa 1,500 tons. Recyclable materials are sorted out, and the rest is made into Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), a more environmentally-friendly fuel than the fossil ones.
