Teaching a robot hand to feel like a human

A team of researchers working for the Bristol Robotics Laboratoy at the University of Bristol have made it their ambitious goal to create a 3D-printed robotic hand with human sense of touch in five years. The group responsible for TacTip, a 3D-printed fingertip that was awarded at the Harvard University’s International Soft Robotics Competition, is confident that the hand will be able to do a lot of the things that our hands can do. Possibilities include everything from assembly work to caregiving in hospitals.
