Royal Mail, the UK’s designated Universal Postal Service Provider, has signed an agreement with Peugeot to buy 100 Partner L2 Electric van as their delivery vehicles. This marks first major fleet order for the van, which is eligible for the Ultra Low Emission Discount (ULED) in London.

Its batteries can be re-charged to 80 percent capacity in 30 minutes from a dedicated rapid charge point, and the drive motor additionally provides regenerative braking when slowing down, aiding in re-charging the batteries and reducing brake wear.

The vans will go into service in December 2017. That will be accompanied by a rollout of charging infrastructure.
