Car tire manufacturer Continental has revealed a new concept smart tire at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The tire measures tread depth and temperature with sensors, and tells the driver if it determines the tire has been damaged in any way.
“The ContiSense technology ‘senses’ all information from the road surface, as well the condition of the tire itself,” Kai Rühling, a senior PR consultant for Continental, explains. “With its conductive rubber inlayers it can feel if there is a metallic obstacle puncturing the tire.
