Our mission
Civocracy is a civic tech start-up operating in the social economy sector, engaging with actors in the traditional sector (public authorities) founded on the vision of enhancing digital civic engagement. The platform specifically functions to enable governments, businesses and people to collaborate to shape public services by raising issues, responding to calls, and sharing knowledge between cities. As a platform utilized by municipalities in multiple European countries, Civocracy links both people and cities across borders and enables the sharing of solutions beyond of traditional structures. We create a network of engaged cities and organisations willing to commonly tackle local issues by involving their ecosystems.

Our service: Effective online civic interaction
Effective online civic interaction requires a combination of information, discussion and action. Civocracy provides a digital platform that connects people, governments and stakeholders and provides them with the necessary tools to communicate and collaborate effectively. Each participating organisation receives a landing page, where it can launch topics, propose policies, and obtain feedback. Citizen participants can raise issues, express opinions, seek input from key stakeholders, share relevant articles, propose actions, and vote on existing ideas. As people, we are all stakeholders of local policies: as workers, family person, student, in an association, … We all wear more than one hat in many situations. Sharing our ideas and point of views enable better decision making on the local level and accurate policy-making in the long run thanks to co-creation.
