Even though it was only a tiny part of this year’s US election battle, climate change is a serious issue in the American society. When it comes to climate change and global warming there is a drastic cleavage between the single United States of America. In states like Florida, California or Alaska that fight against rising sea levels, melting ice and wildfires caused by gloabl warming, the climate change is a severe issue. Other states like Utah do not care so much about climate issues. Hilary Clinton wanted to continue Obama’s legacy of his Clean Power Plan, Donald Trum does not believe in the climate change at all. After his victory in the presidential election the future evolution of fighting the climate change and shifting to a green economy will depend on each individual state and their plans, visions and measures put into practice. There are a number of states that will play a key role in determining US climate policy, along with a handful of ballot initiatives covering everything from rooftop solar to a proposed carbon tax.
