The UK government is putting £23 in funds into the hydrogen transport sector. The Department for Transport announced the plans to establish hydrogen cars and stock up on refueling stations to help encourage customers to buy hydrogen power vehicles on Saturday.
Hydrogen-fueled cars emit nothing but water, their tanks are filled up in minutes, and they already have competitive range. The problem is the price. Producing hydrogen is very energy-intensive, and that energy has to be clean for the plan to cut carbon emissions and improve air quality to work.
The UK is suspected to unveil more projects of a similar kind to meet the goals of their upcoming Emissions Reduction Plan.
