US federal court approves $225M settlement in VW 3.0L diesel case

Agreements have been signed between the VW group,  will pay $225 million, including the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) and the US Department of Justice (US DOJ) to pay $225 million, including $66 million for harm resulting from its 3.0-liter diesel passenger cars which included emissions control ‘defeat devices’. VW will also contribute to California’s ZEV by introducing two new ZEV vehicles by 2019 where one of these should be an electric SUV. The company must also collectively sell 35000 of the various ZEV models between 2019 and 2025. A second Green City project in California will also be placed by the VW. Features of the project includes ZEV ridesharing projects or ZEV transit and freight applications.
