Swedish renewable energy company Vattenfall is in talks with Peel Ports to develop a Norfolk offshore wind operations base in Great Yarmouth, potentially creating 150 wind farm technician jobs. The two firms have said they signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further negotiate terms and conditions of a potential deal on an exclusive basis.
“If we get permission to build both Norfolk Vanguard and Norfolk Boreas, our investment can only do good for the region and continue to put Great Yarmouth at the centre of one of the UK’s fastest growing industries,” Ruari Lean, Vattenfall’s manager for the project, said.
Both parties expressed confidence that the deal will be closed.
