In the first half of 2017 the Australian state Victoria will tender green certificates to support 75 MW of new solar power capacity. This also includes the plan to power the Melbourne tram network with renewables. The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning will send a request for tendering in the next month for large-scale renewable certificates (LCGs) from 75 MW of large solar projects in North West Victoria. About 35 MW of the generated energy will go to the tram network in Melbourne.
