The Wearables for Good Design Challenge by UNICEF, ARM, and Frog has found two innovative winners.

SoaPen is a wearable soap-crayon that encourages handwashing, and thus limits the spread of infectious viruses. “We believe that a serious problem can be solved through a simple and fun solution,” said Shubham Issar, one of SoaPen’s founders. “Our focus is to reduce infant mortality rates and the spread of disease by promoting the habit of hand washing with soap among children.

The Khushi Baby is a necklace that stores electronic health data to track child immunization for up to two years. As it is synced to cloud technology, health officials can then use the data for better care.
