The world’s largest lithium-ion battery, being built by Tesla in South Australia, is entering final testing very soon. Premier Jay Weatherill has revealed that the battery powerpacks are already installed at the Jamestown facility.
“While others are just talking, we are delivering our energy plan, making South Australia more self-sufficient and providing backup power and more affordable energy for South Australians this summer,” Weatherill said.
Authorities are now making sure that the 100-megawatt battery meets energy market and state government regulatory requirements through energizing and further testing.
