Global System Mobile Association (GSMA) is going to launch the “IoT Big Data API Directory” that will use multiple sources worldwide to generate harmonised data sets covering machines, devices, automotive, roads, environment, smart home and agriculture. The data will be available to developers and third parties giving them the opportunity to create new IoT services. It is the first directory of its kind. The directory is designed to encourage a common approach to data sharing so IoT can realise its entire potential and foster the development of new projects in the transport, environment and smart city sector. Global mobile companies such as China Mobile, China Unicom, KT Corporation, Orange and Telefónica have already implemented solutions enabling them to share harmonised IoT data.
