Energy giant AES is exploring how AI can improve awareness, efficiency and maintenance of their energy grid systems and assets like solar farms and gas plants. With AI, predictions of how systems operate will be more accurate, thus either running solar farms at a lower cost, or in a way they produce more power.
Tech giants like GE and IBM are already creating prediction and maintenance systems for electricity, and AES is looking into advanced neural network design, natural language processing and machine intelligence to make the best use of all the data their systems produce.
