Airbus Helicopters recently completed a full-scale test of its propulsion system for the CityAirbus concept. The CityAirbus is a small VTOL craft designed for cities, and is in the engineering and prototype build stages right now.
Electrically powered, the vehicle will be able to carry four passengers on short flights.
“We now have a better understanding of the performance of CityAirbus’ innovative electric propulsion system, which we will continue to mature through rigorous testing while beginning the assembly of the full-scale CityAirbus flight demonstrator,” said Marius Bebesel, CityAirbus chief engineer.
