AXA analysis sees energy efficiency improve rapidly

According to an analysis report from insurance giant AXA, the number of the worst rated properties in the UK has gone down about 50 percent in the last two years. This is seen as a result of a rapid increase in energy efficiency performance by the private rental market.

One in 20 rented homes are still have ratings that are illegal come next april when the new minimum standards will be enforced, though. “Our study has found that landlords are making significant investments into improving the energy efficiency of their properties,” Gareth Howell, managing director of AXA Direct, said in a statement.
