DOE awards nearly $4million in research and projects on rare earth elements

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) will award nearly $4 million to develop new technologies or technology advancements to recover rare earth elements (REE) from domestic US coal and coal by-products. By progressing research in this field, the U.S. can be more independent of REE from other nations.
