German electric car sales up 137% as confidence in diesel dwindles

Sales number from August show that nearly around 2 percent of new car sales in Germany were plug-in vehicles. That is a higher market share than in the United States. Fully electric vehicle sales are up an impressive 137 percent as well.

Data shows that diesel cars are losing share after several emissions scandals in Germany as confidence continues to take a dip. Plug-in vehicles seem to be the natural solution to a lot of Germans.

With the announced by Tesla for the location for their Gigafactories around the corner, and the time opportune in Germany for the release of the Model 3, a factory in the country would more than make sense.
