In late September, the city council of Paris approved a new resilience strategy. It will be launched this week and includes a number of measure to increase the city’s strength against extreme weather. Among these measures are the redevelopment of schoolyards into green areas to reduce the heat island effect. An online platform will be developed through which people can give goods and services to others in order to increase social cohesion. These two projects exemplify that the resilience strategy is comprised of both environmental and social measures.
