SAP has redesigned their Business ByDesign ERP product to act as cloud-based enterprise resource planning software for small to mid-sized local governments. As existing ERP systems of customers are outdated, SAP sees the need to replace them to stabilize investment for governments. “They want to have a more stable cost structure. “The cloud offers them predictable, low-cost solutions so they can budget out one, five, 10 years,” says Elizabeth McGowan, SAP’s global cloud strategy lead for public services. Their product will help with human resources, project management and finance features.
