Royal Dutch Shell announced this week that it has acquired NewMotion, a company specializing in turning parking spots into electric charging stations. NewMotion is already operating one of Europe’s largest EV charging networks with 30,000 charging points.
“This is a way of broadening our offer as we move through the energy transition,” Matthew Tipper, Shell’s vice president of new fuels, said. “It’s certainly a form of diversification.”
