The chance is very high that the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) will not exist in the current form any longer. The Republican Party has always denied it. Now dominating the Congress it could repeal and replace it. However, the law can not be fully repealed but the Republicans could use measures to defund much of the financial support which in turn means only parts of the law related to funding could be affected. As a consequence more than 20 million people could lose their health coverage. Trump’s health plan is not so clear. State regulations of health insurance would be done away with in favour of unified regulations. All 50 states have their own insurance commissioners and regulation agencies.
